Now here’s one for the diaries. September is going to be one colourful month what with the National Colour Week (1-7 September 2013) and The Art of Colour. Just the way we like to welcome in a new season.

The Plascon Spaces Showroom and ARTEYE Gallery will present a month-long celebration of ‘The Art of Colour’. We know that colour affects our moods, emotions and behaviour, and plays a vital role in our world. And this alone is cause for celebration.

The event looks at the impact colour has in our lives; and will feature top local artists – sculptors and painters – in action, as they work live from the Plascon Spaces Showroom in Fourways, Johannesburg. A different artist will be in the showroom every day and participants include: Carol Hamman (Sculptor), Ben Tuge (Carver), Trevor Coleman (Painter), Mbongeni Buthelezi (Sculptural Painter), Colbert Mashile (Painter), Luke Botha (Painter) and Spencer Whittle (Painter).

‘The Art of Colour’ is free to the public and will run for the entire month of September. The celebration will end with a celebrity auction that will be held at the Design Quarter.
